Chiloé es un paraíso terrenal en el sur de Chile que está viviendo una grave situación socioambiental. Recientemente en las costas de Chiloé se ha generado una expansión inédita de marea roja. Este fenómeno que va acompañado de la mortandad de mariscos es sin lugar a duda, una de las mayores catástrofes ambientales de los últimos años registradas en el país.

El señor Dibay confiesa a sus hijos que hace años se casó por segunda vez y tiene un hijo con su segunda esposa, pero lleva mucho tiempo sin noticias de ellos y la historia empieza.

Un joven Talabé, estudiante de teología, está intentando hacer la mejor elección entre sus propias creencias, las enseñanzas que está recibiendo y las verdaderas necesidades que en la sociedad y la vida cotidiana de la gente le marca en la conciencia...

Buster Keaton asks the father of the woman he loves for her hand in marriage, but the father wants to see Keaton make something of himself first.
"I'll leave for the city to make good. If I'm not a success, I'll come back and shoot myself," Buster declares, which is a perfectly acceptable arrangement as far as the father is concerned.
So Keaton heads off for the big city and tries his hand at a number of different jobs.
