Docente di Storia della Medicina all'Università La Sapienza di Roma, ha una formazione internazionale, che lo ha portato da Parigi a Boston, da Berkeley a Tours. È autore del libro Chi ha paura dei vaccini?, Codice EdizionI, 2016; insieme a E. Cattaneo e J. De Falco, di Ogni giorno. Tra scienza e Politica, Mondadori, 2016. Scrive per La Repubblica.

Professore Ordinario di Filosofia teoretica e di Filosofia della mente al Dipartimento di FORPSICOM dell'Università degli Studi di Bari. La sua ricerca si concentra sulle funzioni del ragionamento, come la logica della plausibilità, la semantica della "verità" e le modalità ermeneutiche del capire. Fa parte del comitato della "Rivista internazionale di Filosofia e Psicologia".
