Gli strumenti matematici oggi sono sempre più specifici e permettono di studiare fenomeni della vita reale proponendo soluzioni concrete. Nel corso di questa conferenza viene presentato un modello matematico che consente, con l'ausilio di dispositivi informatici e dell'elaborazione digitale, lo studio di patologie vascolari partendo da immagini TC in assenza di mezzo di contrasto, in modo tale da offrire risultati a fini diagnostici.

Paolo Plevani: Genetista. Fondatore di CusMiBio, Università degli Studi di Milano Il DNA, "molecola della vita", è bersaglio di agenti chimico-fisici che inducono una varietà di lesioni. La mancata riparazione delle lesioni causa un aumento del numero di mutazioni ed è correlabile all'insorgenza di tumori e specifiche malattie genetiche. Recenti piattaforme hanno permesso di sviluppare nuove metodologie, che possono causare l'inattivazione di un gene o la generazione di nuove funzioni genetiche con potenziali applicazioni in biologia, medicina e agricoltura.
