Valentino es uno de los grandes mitos del cine y el "latin lover" por excelencia, que se convirtió en el objecto deseo de millones de mujeres (y de los hombres) de todo el mundo. Nació en Castellaneta (Italia). Murió a la temprana edad de 31 años en Nueva York, víctima de una peritonitis.
