En 1990, estalla la guerra en una provincia georgiana que busca la independencia.
Ivo, un estonio, decide quedarse, a diferencia del resto de sus compatriotas, para ayudar a su amigo Margus con la cosecha de mandarinas. Al comenzar el conflicto, dos soldados resultan heridos delante de su casa, e Ivo se ve obligado a cuidar de ellos.
