"Los ricos no crean empleo". Discurso de Nick Hanauer en TED

En Marzo de 2012, el fundador de Amazon y gear.com, Nick Hanauer, uno de los inversores más importantes de Estados Unidos, apareció en la conferencia organizada por el T.E.D. siglas del "Technology Entertainment and Design" ante un público formado por algunos de los más importantes empresarios estadounidenses y afirmó: "Si fuera verdad que mantener bajos los impuestos de los más ricos produjese más puestos de trabajo, hoy en día estaríamos saturados de ofertas de trabajo". Sin embargo, no ha sido hasta hace unos días que el popularmente conocido como TED, reputado organismo dedicado a la organización de charlas dirigidas a las élites, decidió no publicar el vídeo de su participación, al considerarlo inapropiado, polémico y partidista...

¿Qué hace especial el caso de Hanauer? Que se trataba de un inversor de éxito, aplaudido unánimemente por sus grandes logros, dirigiéndose a un público formado por grandes fortunas. Y que, por si fuera poco, apelaba a su propia experiencia como empresario para justificar una mayor igualdad fiscal. Sin embargo, bajo el hipotético rupturismo de Hanauer, no se oculta un revolucionario reparto de la riqueza ni un ataque indiscriminado a los dueños del capital, sino precisamente un camino de salida ante la crisis que, según él, pasa por fortalecer las clases medias y bajas en cuanto que son las que consumen los productos que los empresarios crean para ellos...
